Implantology and oral surgery
Implantology is a branch of oral surgery that deals with the installation of implants—artificial replacements for the root of the tooth and is also the most modern and best solution for toothlessness.
Dental implants are titanium, biocompatible (the body will not reject them) screws that are implanted in the jawbone, on which crowns or bridges are then fixed.
Implants are the most similar to your teeth, not only visually, but also sensibly—you don't feel them like a foreign body, which is often the case with prostheses.
-
In Hodanić Dental Studio, the entire process of installing implants is performed by our implantologist, Dr. Teo Hodanić, which means that you will get complete implantology service at one address.
Also, Dr. Hodanić supervises the patient's recovery process and is available at any time for any intervention or question.

We do post-extraction implants with an immediate supply of crowns, which means that in one visit, we extract the tooth, install the implant and place the crown on it as soon as it is sent to us from the laboratory.
Post-extraction implants are performed on the frontal part of the jaw if there is enough bone to anchor the implant. The tooth that goes on it has an aesthetic function and after three months it is replaced by a fully functional tooth.
The procedure is, of course, completely painless because it is performed under local anesthesia.
-
With delayed implant placement, which is done when there is not enough bone, and in the back region of the mouth, the procedure takes place in eight steps and looks like this:
1. Anesthesia is administered to ensure that the procedure is completely painless
2. The gums are opened
3. The implant is installed
4. The gums are sutured
5. Three months wait for the implant to osseointegrate—so that the bone creates a solid connective tissue around the titanium screw and completely fixes it. Simply put, in order for the implant to fuse with the jaw bone and be strong just like the natural root of the tooth.
6. The implant is opened
7. An impression is taken
8. A tooth is inserted
In order for the implantation to go flawlessly, before we start the procedure, it is necessary to make a CBCT 3D—a very precise three-dimensional image of the jaw that allows us the most precise dental diagnosis, while emitting a minimum dose of radiation.
CBCT 3D gives us an accurate insight into:
— height, depth and width of the bone
— teeth
— nerves
— tissuesWhen they are made with quality, implants are long-term, we can even safely say a lifelong solution to toothlessness. Of course, in order to serve you well, you should have regular dental checkups and maintain thorough oral hygiene. In other words, take care of them the way you take care of your natural teeth.
